Bac Ha Market Sunday Tour

Itinerary:  Sapa –  Bac Ha Market – Ban Pho Village – Sapa

(Opt 2: Lao Cai Station – Bac Ha Maret – Ban Pho Village – Lao Cai Station)

We will pick you up early at your hotel in Sapa. If you arrive at Lao Cai Station on Sunday by train, we will pick you up at the station and transfer directly to Bac Ha Market. You will have time for breakfast, bathing, relaxing before the tour starts.

Bac Ha market is one of the largest markets in the Northwest region of Viet Nam and is only open on Sunday. It is situated about 110km from Sapa or about 2.5 hours away by bus and is worth every second of the ride. Every Sunday, the different and colorful ethnic minorities come all here to sell their homemade products or buy something for their family. They are H’mong, Phu La, Back Dzao, Tay or Nung minorities. Some of these ethnic minorities can’t be met in any other areas.

As soon as we arrive at Bac Ha, you will have free time for visiting one of the most colourfull market in the world. At the market, you have chance to enjoy Bac Ha people’s simple but unique kinds of food with special wines made from rice, cassavas, corn and different sorts of fruits such as plumps, apples, peaches… talking to the minorities through the guide’s interpretation.

After lunch, we leave the market for visiting the H’mong King’s house (King Hoang A Tuong) built by the French colonists and the Chinese in 1920, short walking to see Ban Pho village where is the homeland of flower H’mong.

After that, we will come back Sapa if you have more days for Sapa or we will drive downhill towards Lao Cai if you come back Hanoi. On the way back, drop in to see the Vietnamese and Chinese Harbor Mouth in Lao Cai.
